Terms of Use

Agreement

By using OpenFrame or claiming a region on the canvas, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not submit a claim.

Our commitment to the archive

OpenFrame is built to last. Purchasing a region is meaningful because permanence is the point. Your claim is intended to be part of a public record that endures. We take that seriously.

We commit to keeping the canvas and its archive accessible on the public internet for as long as we are reasonably able to. We are genuinely passionate about this project and intend to maintain it for the long term.

We cannot guarantee indefinite operation. No service honestly can. If OpenFrame were ever to cease, we would provide reasonable notice and make reasonable efforts to ensure the archive remains accessible in some form. We would not simply switch it off.

Claims are permanent

OpenFrame has no accounts, no login system, and no self-service editing. Once your claim is confirmed, your region, drawing, display name, message, and link are intended to be permanent.

Please check everything carefully before payment. If you include personal information in your name, message, link, or drawing, it may become public and permanent.

Content standards

We want people to have fun with OpenFrame, be playful, and make the canvas interesting. Let's be reasonable though: you must not submit content that is unlawful, racist, hateful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, sexually exploitative, infringing, malicious, deceptive, or otherwise harmful.

OpenFrame may hide, remove, refuse, or moderate a claim at our discretion if we believe it breaks these standards or creates legal, safety, or operational risk. This is not intended to be draconian; it is necessary to keep OpenFrame safe, lawful, and usable.

If a claim is hidden or removed because it breaches these terms, we may do so without providing a refund.

Rights to display your contribution

You keep ownership of content you submit, but you give OpenFrame permission to host, display, publish, archive, reproduce, and share your claim as part of the canvas, daily frame archive, website, and OpenFrame social media.

This permission is worldwide, royalty-free, and ongoing because the archive is designed to be permanent.

The canvas, daily frame archive, and individual claims may also be referenced or featured in marketing, editorial, or promotional material produced by OpenFrame or its operators and affiliated entities.

Claims are not investments

Purchasing a region on OpenFrame is a consumer transaction for a permanent creative placement on a digital canvas. It does not constitute an equity investment, financial instrument, or ownership interest of any kind in OpenFrame or any of its operators, affiliates, or related ventures.

No financial return, profit sharing, dividend, voting right, or other financial interest is conferred by a claim. You are paying for a permanent spot on the canvas, nothing more.

Intellectual property

Please only submit content you have the right to use. This includes artwork, characters, logos, trade marks, brand material, celebrity images, and anything else owned or controlled by someone else.

You are responsible for the content in your claim. OpenFrame does not endorse contributor-submitted content. If we receive a rights complaint, or if we reasonably believe a claim creates intellectual property risk, we may hide or remove it without refund.

Rights holders can contact us at openframehq@outlook.com.

Payments and refunds

All amounts are processed in AUD. Checkout places a card authorisation first, and OpenFrame captures payment only after the server has processed and confirmed your claim.

We do not provide refunds for user mistakes, including choosing the wrong region, uploading the wrong drawing, entering the wrong name, message, or link, or changing your mind after the claim is confirmed.

If something appears to have gone wrong with processing, payment, or claim display, email openframehq@outlook.com. We will get back to you as soon as is reasonably possible.

External links

Claims may include links supplied by contributors. Those links are not controlled by OpenFrame. Please use your own judgement before visiting external sites.

Availability and changes

OpenFrame is provided as is in terms of features and availability. We may update the website, change features, moderate content, or make operational changes as the project evolves.
