The short version
OpenFrame is public by design. If you include a name, message, link, image, logo, drawing, or any personal detail in a claim, expect it to be visible publicly and permanently as part of the canvas and daily archive.
Please do not include personal information in your claim unless you are comfortable with it being public.
Information we collect
When you claim a region, OpenFrame stores the information needed to display and process that claim. This includes your selected region, drawing, display name, optional message, optional link, claim status, claim time, and payment reference identifiers from Stripe.
We do not create user accounts for claims, and we do not provide a login system for editing a claim later.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. OpenFrame does not store your card number, card security code, or full payment details. Those details stay with Stripe.
We store payment-related identifiers, such as a Stripe Checkout Session ID or Payment Intent ID, so we can confirm whether a claim was processed correctly and help with support requests.
Public and permanent claims
Confirmed claims become part of the public OpenFrame canvas. The daily frame is captured and archived, and posted to social media platforms.
Because this is the point of the project, you should assume your claim content is permanent once payment is processed and the claim is confirmed.
Analytics and site operation
We may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how people use OpenFrame and to improve the site. These tools may use cookies or similar browser storage. You can limit this through your browser settings or relevant browser extensions.
Support and privacy questions
If you have a privacy question, or if something has gone wrong with a claim or payment, email openframehq@outlook.com. We will get back to you as soon as is reasonably possible.
